Cardiff County Council has commission two artists Alex Relph and Thomas Kenrick to create artworks as part of the re-developed Cemaes Community Park in Cardiff
Thomas Kenrick will carve 4 sandstone blocks to be used as informal seating in the park. Alex Relph will create metalwork gates for the entrance for the entrance to the park. The Gates will be bowtop in design to match the adjacent railings, and will also incorporate the Park’s NameThe themes will be identified through working with the local community.
A meeting will be held at Trowbridge Scout Hall on 16/03/2011 for residents to discuss the project. There will also be a total four days of workshops by the artists with the children of Trowbridge Primary School and St John Lloyd Primary School at the end of the march.
The work undertaken with the community will influence the designs of the artworks; this should result in giving local residence ownership of the project.
